Features

Robust and stable sound recording engine

Snooper’s recording engine is designed for efficiency, using minimal CPU and memory to ensure smooth operation. Over time, it has become incredibly stable and reliable. Trusted in critical environments such as airports, fire stations, and radio stations, Snooper has proven its robustness and dependability across various demanding settings.

  Flexible recording system

The sound-activated recording feature in Snooper has a versatile trigger window, enabling recordings up to 10 seconds prior to the detection of the trigger sound. With adjustable sensitivity levels and the option to apply pre-recording DSP filters, it offers enhanced precision in trigger activation, ensuring you capture exactly what you need.

  Unique noise suppression system

Noise suppression is achieved through the application of a pre-established noise cancellation profile, enhancing the system’s ability to detect and activate upon sounds at minimal levels. This feature is particularly effective for environments with inherent noise, such as laptops, ensuring optimal audio clarity.

  Scheduler

Snooper can be configured to activate various recording modes and utilize different recording devices at precise times and dates. Each Snooper Professional plugin can be individually scheduled to activate at specific times and on selected days of the week, offering tailored functionality to meet your recording needs efficiently.

  MP3, WAV and FLAC formats

The platform offers an array of configurable settings, including bit rate, sample rate, and channel options such as mono and stereo. Select between different output formats as MP3, WAV or FLAC.

  Exclusive Dual recording option

The dual recording feature enables simultaneous recording in both WAV and MP3 formats, offering versatility in file type without compromising quality. Additionally, users have the option to capture a pure, unfiltered WAV file alongside a processed and compressed MP3 version, ensuring both high fidelity and convenience in a single recording session.

  Dictation mode

This system incorporates a dedicated recording mode designed to aggregate all sound-activated recordings into a unified file. An integrated auto-save functionality ensures that recordings are automatically preserved upon the lapse of a predetermined duration. Configuring the auto-save interval to 30 minutes results in the creation of a file 30 minutes subsequent to the initial activation trigger, with a cap of two files per hour when utilizing a 30-minute auto-save setting.

  Tone triggering

Configure Snooper Professional to initiate recording upon detection of a specific frequency, employing the TwoToneSequential mode for activation by common audio tones used in public paging or control systems. Additionally, it is equipped to recognize and trigger recording sequences through a series of DTMF tones.

  File splitter

Recordings can be automatically segmented and saved upon reaching predefined file sizes or time durations, facilitating organized storage and easier management of audio files.

  Hotkeys

System wide user definable hotkeys can be set to control the program.
Recordings can also be set to automatically start/stop when switching to/from screen lock.

  Encryption

Upon completion of a recording, Snooper is capable of automatically encrypting the audio file, utilizing advanced PGP encryption for enhanced security. This feature is particularly advantageous for the secure transfer of recordings over the internet, via email or FTP, safeguarding sensitive audio data against unauthorized access.

  Automatic gain control (AGC)

The Automatic Gain Control (AGC) intelligently adjusts the input sound level to an optimal value, ensuring an uniform output amplitude. When paired with the advanced Noise Cancellation system, this facilitates the effortless recording of sounds at low amplitudes, guaranteeing clarity and consistency in the captured audio.

  Sound pressure level meter/logger

Monitor sound pressure level (SPL) 24/7 with the built in SPL meter.
View the measured sound/noise levels graphically with the built in viewer.
In the graph you can see the parameters Lmax, Lmin, Lpeak and Leq which provides a very useful means of describing the sound levels.
Amplitude data can be searched for and exported to an MS Excel compatible format for further analysis.

  Digital filters

Sophisticated digital filters, including Low Pass (LP), High Pass (HP), Band Pass (BP), Notch, and a 3-band equalizer, can be meticulously applied to audio recordings. These filters serve to precisely attenuate unwanted signals or background noise, enhancing the clarity and quality of the recording.

  Frequency analyzer

The integrated real-time frequency analyzer, encompassing both spectrum and octave analyzers, provides a comprehensive visualization of the input sound signal. This feature offers an in-depth analysis, allowing users to understand and adjust the acoustic properties with precision.

  Trigger event

Initiate playback of a predefined sound or launch an external application upon detection of a trigger sound. Additionally, automate the process of deleting files post-email dispatch, or seamlessly copy files to backup storage, databases, FTP servers, and other designated repositories, ensuring efficient data management and security protocols.
